CMK School of ASEAN Studies

The CMK School of ASEAN Studies (CSAS), an initiative sponsored by the Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation, was established in 2023 with the mission to cultivate the next generation of leaders poised to advance the Korean-ASEAN cooperation. Through its educational program, CSAS provides undergraduate students with a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum featuring lectures delivered by esteemed experts in the field of ASEAN, spanning politics, economics, business, and social culture.
CSAS also offers students the invaluable opportunity to engage in collaborative research projects, enriched by immersive field explorations throughout the Southeast Asian region. These endeavors are integral to CSAS's overarching goal of establishing a solid foundation for students to emerge as prominent ASEAN authorities, capable of excelling both domestically and internationally across public, private, and academic sectors.
In addition to its educational program, CSAS is actively working to foster a robust network of ASEAN experts through various endeavors. These endeavors encompass providing students with internship opportunities at ASEAN-related international organizations, hosting annual CMK ASEAN Forums, and publishing associated journals. CSAS is also in the process of launching Masters and PhD programs focused on ASEAN studies at Korea University in Seoul, South Korea.
