Supplementary Documents on Diplomatic Relations of the Joseon Dynasty

ARI began to organize Diplomatic Documents of the Late Joseon Dynasty in 1962 and completed the publication of 22 volumes in May 1971 after 10 years of work. When supplementary documents are utilized as research materials together with diplomatic documents, more in-depth research can be achieved. Given this fact, along with publishing diplomatic documents from March 1966, ARI also began to examine related documents and records and organize these supplementary documents.

[Supplementary Documents on Diplomatic Relations of Joseon Dynasty] The number of volumes is as follows:
  • Haegwan-an (Maritime Customs): two volumes (vols 1 to 2)
  • Tongseo-ilgi (negotiation and trade): four volumes (vols 3 to 6)
  • Oeamun-ilgi (negotiation and trade): one volume (vol. 7)
  • Gyoseopguk-ilgi (diplomacy): two volumes (vols 8 to 9)
  • Gando-an (Gando): one volume (vol. 10)
