[Notice]ARI Fellowship Announcement

ARI Fellowship Program for Northeast Asian Studies   The ARI Fellowship Program for Northeast Asian Studies is designed to provide scholars and doctoral candidates from foreign countries with an opportunity to carry out research on topics related to Northeast Asia at the Asiatic Research Institute, Korea University. Individuals in the fields of the humanities and social sciences who are currently engaged in research and teaching activities related to Northeast Asia are eligible to apply. Priority will be given to foreign nationals working on peace and integration on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia, particularly to early career researchers who have received their Ph.D. degree within the last five years or doctoral candidates who have completed all academic requirements except their dissertation. The fellowship period is for up to six months. The application deadline is August 27, 2017, and all applicants will be notified about our decision by the end of August.   # Fellowship Grant1. Economy-class round-trip airfare (only provided to those who are based overseas prior to the fellowship period)※ Reimbursement of airfare will be provided after arrival2. Position Available for an Editorial Assistant for East Asian Community Review   Since its establishment in 1957, the Asiatic Research Institute (ARI) has played a leading role in East Asian studies as the first university-affiliated research institute in Korea. In 2008, the ARI was selected as one of the recipient institutes of the government-sponsored Humanities Korea (HK) Project for regional studies. The ARI has steadfastly pursued the goal of undertaking cutting-edge research in East Asian studies as one of the world-class research institutes. As a part of its efforts, the ARI plans to launch a peer-reviewed journal, titled East Asian Community Review (EACR), in 2018. The ARI is looking for an editorial assistant for the new journal.
